We were delighted to welcome HRH
The Prince of Wales to our annual
Convocation ceremony in Cirencester
Parish Church on 23 July 2015. HRH
The Prince of Wales presented students
from the School of Agriculture, Food
and Environment with their degrees,
and addressed the congregation.
His Royal Highness has been President of
the Royal Agricultural University since 1982.
RAU Vice-Chancellor, Professor Chris
Gaskell, said: “It is a great honour that
HRH The Prince of Wales attended
Convocation to award our degrees. 2015
is the 30th year since we welcomed His
Royal Highness, President of the RAU, on
his first visit to the University, and it made
what is a very special day for our students,
and Cirencester, even more memorable.”
The RAU held three Convocation
ceremonies over two days (23 and 24 July)
for its four dedicated Schools. Honorary
Fellowships were awarded to Tim Lawson
and Tim Hadaway, while Lord Plumb was
awarded the Bledisloe Medal, recognising
his ‘outstanding services to agriculture’.
Cirencester Parish Church
provided the perfect backdrop for
the traditional ceremonies.
